A multiplayer experience set in medieval times

Renown is a fast-paced game that takes place in a medieval setting. It is a multiplayer survival game in which players create a medieval character and attempt to survive in an open-world setting full of other players who will be competing for the same resources.

Due to the online PvP nature of the game, one of the more comparable games to Renown in terms of the way the game works is Rust. For games with a similar theme, one could look at Chivalry 2.

Open world survival

Though a large part of the appeal of Renown is the medieval setting in which it takes place, it is a recognizable online player versus player (PvP) survival game at its core. Players must hunt for resources and build a shelter to survive, and they can attack other players and take their resources as well. Indeed, that is part of the game.

Base-building

A big part of Renown is the building system. Renown boasts an easy-to-understand system that allows players to make small bases all the way up to full-size castles. The more secure a player's base, the more of a target it will be for other players looking to steal resources since they know a large, strong base requires a lot of resources to make.

Ideal for online survival fans

The medieval setting may seem a bit of a specific niche, but Renown's core gameplay is that of a fairly typical online survival multiplayer. So on that basis alone, fans of that type of game will likely enjoy this one. For players who are not fans, this type of game can be frustrating, as their hard work can seem wasted when other players raid their bases.
